The Sustainable Foods Summit is a series of summits that focuses on the leading issues the food industry faces concerning sustainability and eco-labels such as Organic, Fair Trade, Rainforest Alliance, etc.

With sustainability rising on the corporate agenda, food and ingredient companies are looking at various ways to reduce their environmental and social footprints. The fourth edition of the Sustainable Foods Summit hones in on two major aspects of sustainability in the food industry: carbon footprint reduction and the use of sustainable ingredients. Case studies will be given of organisations at the cutting edge of implementing such sustainability initiatives.

The European edition of the Sustainable Foods Summit will take place in Amsterdam on 23-24th June 2011. Key topics on the summit agenda include food security, generating positive impacts by product design, carbon footprint measurement, biodiversity preservation, sustainable supply chains, climate change strategies, and marketing & distribution innovations.

Like previous events organised by Organic Monitor, the summit will bring together key stake-holders in the food industry and debate these major issues in a high-level forum.
